An old-school world, built for your phone

The mobile 2D MMORPG you have been searching for

If you miss the deliberate hunts, earned skills, risky exploration and player-driven stories of early tile-based online RPGs, enter Tikal — an original world designed from the ground up for touch.

Independent & original. Inspired by a classic era of MMORPG mechanics, not a copy of another game.

Familiar foundations, a new legend

What old-school MMORPG players come for

Tikal keeps the qualities that made classic 2D MMORPGs memorable: readable tile movement, meaningful character growth, danger beyond the city walls and a world shared with real people.

01 · Progress

Skills you actually train

Your weapon mastery, shielding, magic and gathering improve through use. A veteran character feels earned, not selected from a menu.

02 · Danger

Hunts with real stakes

Prepare supplies, learn when to retreat and protect what you carry. Death matters, which makes surviving a deep hunt matter too.

03 · Community

A persistent shared world

Trade, join guilds, climb rankings, form hunting parties, enter arenas and meet the same names again across one living online kingdom.

Inspired by an era, not borrowed from a game

If you searched for Tibia on mobile or a game like Kakele

Tikal speaks to players who enjoy the same broad design tradition as classic Tibia-era worlds and mobile 2D MMORPGs such as Kakele and Warspear: top-down tile movement, four distinct combat callings, skill progression, open-world hunting, trading, guilds and consequential death.

Top-down tile exploration Hands-on skill progression PvE hunts and optional PvP Loot, markets and guilds

A complete online RPG in your pocket

Built as a mobile MMORPG first

This is not a desktop interface squeezed onto a phone. Tikal's controls, hotbar, inventory, chat and game windows are designed for touch, portrait and landscape play.

Android, iOS, web & Windows

Use one account everywhere. Continue the same character and progress on any supported platform.

Four combat callings

Stand firm as a Jaguar Knight, hunt at range as an Eagle Paladin, or command magic as a Sky Sorcerer or Jade Druid.

A vast 2D world

Cross cities, islands, caves, temples and multi-level ruins. Discover shortcuts, dangerous camps and hidden quest chambers.

More than combat

Fish, harvest, craft, trade on the player market, complete achievements, join world events and build your reputation.

Your first steps

From Wanderer to legend

Wake on the shore of Mayahuel with no vocation and little more than a backpack. Learn to fight Rats and Wolves, help the people of Stone Terrace and swear a calling at level eight.

Then the temple tide carries you to Palm Haven. Mainland Tikal opens into cities, wild hunting regions, guild rivalries, story quests, world bosses and party dungeons built for years of character growth.

Common questions

Before you enter Tikal

Is Tikal “Tibia for mobile”?

No. Tikal is an independent, original game and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Tibia or CipSoft. It draws inspiration from the deliberate mechanics and social sandbox feeling of early tile-based MMORPGs, but its content, world, lore, art and technology are its own.

Is Tikal a Kakele private server or a clone of Warspear?

No. Tikal is not a private server, unofficial client, or copy of Kakele, Warspear, Tibia or any other MMORPG. If you like those old-school 2D hunts on your phone, you may feel at home here — but the Kingdom of the Jade Serpent, its vocations, creatures, items and code are Tikal's own.

What makes Tikal similar to classic 2D MMORPGs?

Tile-based movement, training skills through play, distinct vocations, open hunts, dangerous death, player trading, guilds, PvP and a persistent shared world. Tikal reinterprets those foundations with modern cross-platform technology and mobile-first controls.

Can I play on Android, iPhone or a browser?

Yes. Download Tikal from Google Play or the App Store, play instantly in a modern browser, or use the Windows client. Your account and characters are shared across platforms.

Is this old-school MMORPG free to play?

Yes. Tikal is free to play and has zero advertisements. Optional Premium helps fund the game and provides convenience and cosmetic extras.

Is Tikal still being developed?

Yes. Tikal is a live online world with active updates to its content, systems and cross-platform clients. Player rankings and character profiles are visible on the public website.
